22 years of growing together. Funny how a relationship can be the hardest and easiest thing we’ve ever done. It’s meant falling in love with him every time I see the way he looks at our children with that twinkle in his eye. It’s meant not giving up when it felt easier. It’s meant caring more about connection than agreeing on every little thing. It’s meant losing myself in his kiss and having to fight fear together when we feel like God is asking us to leap off a cliff once again in a business move.
This view makes my heart soar. We returned from days of swimming at my parents and they’ve been working on projects together all day while I’m over here learning to be gentle with myself.
Our quiet reading hours have been occasional this summer because the kids have had this flow of creative projects that I don’t care to interrupt, plus time with cousins and friends, but I want to share what we are reading when we do get to it 2-3 times a week, and I’d really love to hear what you and yours are reading as well! 😁📚
While our culture pushes me to enroll my kids in all the church and sports camps, VBS’s, youth events, and continual play dates, I just thought I’d share this thought:
I tell them every morning over breakfast that I’m just so glad I get to be with them, often with tears brimming. They don’t feel how these days are numbered like I do.
Now that Gavin lives near the university during the week, the time with him on the weekends feels like a holiday. There’s excitement abuzz as everyone has something to tell or show Gavin and we’re all eager to hear his stories.
